Cookies & Privacy
Published:
This page explains what cookies and embedded third-party content this website uses, and how you can control them.
Cookie consent
When you first visit this site, a banner asks you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage so you aren’t asked again on later visits. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
What we use
Site analytics — if enabled, this site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it (pages visited, approximate location, browser/device type). It only loads after you accept cookies.
Google Maps — the Contact page can embed an interactive Google Map. Loading it fetches content from Google and may set cookies from google.com. This embed only loads after you accept cookies; until then (or if you decline) you can still get directions via the “Open in Google Maps” link, which simply opens Google Maps in a new tab without loading anything on this site.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share visitor data with third parties beyond what is inherent to the services described above.
Log files
Like most web hosts, GitHub Pages (which hosts this site) automatically logs basic request information (IP address, browser type, referring page, date/time) for operational and security purposes. This is standard server behaviour, not a cookie, and is outside this lab’s direct control — see GitHub’s Privacy Statement for details.
